Kimm Ketelsen

Kimm Ketelsen began playing tennis at age nine, earning his first sportsmanship award the following year. By 1966 he was ranked No. 12 in Texas Boys’ 16s and later rose to No. 11 in Boys’ 18s. After excelling at Midland High School, he accepted a full scholarship to Southeastern Oklahoma State University, where he captured four consecutive conference singles titles and helped his team secure four championships.

Ketelsen’s competitive career extended across multiple decades, with national rankings that included top-ten finishes in senior divisions. As a teaching professional and tennis director, he built a long and accomplished career, distinguished by tournament victories, awards, and unwavering dedication to the game. Widely known as “Coach K,” Ketelsenn is remembered as both a competitor and a mentor who made a lasting impact on Texas tennis.
