Bobby Kleinecke played tennis at O’Connell High School in Galveston. He attended West Texas State (now West Texas A&M), winning 5 Missouri Valley Conference singles and doubles titles. He coached high school tennis before becoming the first head coach for women’s tennis at Texas A&M, where he stayed from 1985-2011. Kleinecke won numerous awards during his coaching career, including the SWC Coach of the Year in 1986 and Big 12 Coach of the Year in 2003 and 2004. Kleinecke was inducted into the West Texas A&M Hall of Champions in 2006.
