The Texas Tennis Museum & Hall of Fame is proud to announce its Class of 2025 inductees: David Davis, Kimm Ketelsen, Emily Schaefer, and Ken Sumrow. Together, these four remarkable leaders represent decades of achievement as players, coaches, mentors, and visionaries who have elevated the game across Texas and beyond.
They will be formally inducted and honored among family, friends, and fellow tennis enthusiasts at the Annual Banquet on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Texas Sports Hall of Fame in Waco.
The Hall of Fame recognizes individuals—past and present—who, as players, coaches, or contributors, have achieved distinction in tennis or significantly advanced the growth, development, or administration of the game.
Inductees are permanently honored in the Inductee Gallery at the Texas Tennis Museum & Hall of Fame in Waco. Located at the heart of the Museum, the Gallery features biographies, artifacts, and an interactive kiosk that brings their stories to life. Newly installed lounge furniture will create a welcoming and comfortable space where visitors can sit, reflect, and fully immerse themselves in the history around them. This addition transforms the Gallery into a place for conversation, learning, and connection with the legacy of Texas tennis.
The Texas Tennis Hall of Fame Class of 2025 features four outstanding leaders in the sport: David Davis of Abilene, a lifelong ambassador who coached at McMurry University and led Rose Park Tennis Center for more than two decades; Emily Schaefer of Houston, a standout player at Princeton University who has served as a coach, director, and leader at local, state, and national levels; Ken Sumrow of Plano, who has spent nearly five decades shaping tennis, including his leadership at High Point Tennis Center and co-founding the Children Helping Children Tennis Tournament, which has raised millions for pediatric cancer research; and Kimm Ketelsen of Hutto, known as “Coach K,” a top-ranked Texas player and coach whose career has spanned more than 50 years.
The Texas Tennis Museum & Hall of Fame 2025 Annual Banquet will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Texas Sports Hall of Fame in Waco. The evening will begin with self-guided tours, followed by a cocktail reception and seated dinner with formal program.
