Bill Owen

Induction Year: 2006

 

Dr. William Owen (1925-2010) played in his first tournament in 1939, winning the Henderson County Boys’ Singles Championship. He went on to win the UIL Regional Championship in high school. A talented player, Dr. Owen enjoyed many significant victories in singles and doubles competition throughout his life. He volunteered with the Texas Tennis Association for over 20 years. He served in many leadership positions, including president of the Texas Tennis Association (1989-1990) and on numerous USTA committees.
