Nancy Penson

Nancy Penson (1924-2012) was born July 1, 1924 in Dallas. She excelled as an adult in both singles and doubles and made a lasting impression both on and off the court. In 1974 when she turned 50, she was the nation’s No. 1 ranked senior woman. She was ranked No. 1 in Texas seven times in various age divisions. Penson helped organize the National Senior Women’s Tennis Association. She co-founded the Dallas Tennis Association and was among the original members of the Maureen Connolly Brinker Tennis Foundation’s advisory board.
