Updated: Nov 6, 2022

WACO, TEXAS – On Saturday, November 6, the Texas Tennis Museum and Hall of Fame hosted its 2021 Annual Banquet. This year’s event celebrated the organization's 40th Anniversary and the Hall of Fame Classes of 2020 and 2021.

The cocktail reception, sponsored by Tito's Handmade Vodka, included self-guided tours of the museum and recognition of the McCleary Family, family of the founders of the museum, and Courtney Henderson, longtime leader.

Jim Chaffin, secretary/treasurer of the Museum, opened the program and delivered the prayer. Ken McAllister served as emcee. After dinner, guests heard from Cindy Brinker Simmons, daughter of Maureen Connolly Brinker "Little Mo."

The event included recognition of the Class of 2020: Paul Cass, Chuck Sanchelli, Kathy Vick and Carol Weyman and culminated with the induction of the 2021 Hall of Fame Class: Wayne Leavitt and Carolyn Moody. During the celebration, a special video of each inductee was shown and followed by an introduction of each inductee. The new members of the Hall of Fame were given the chance to say a few words and awarded a certificate, medallion and blue blazer signifying enshrinement into the Texas Tennis Hall of Fame.
